What "without surgery" means
When people talk about facial rejuvenation without surgery, they mean aesthetic procedures for the face performed with no incisions and without an operating room, in a treatment room.
In practice, what changes for the patient is the routine. The non-surgical path happens with no downtime from daily activities, even though some swelling in the first days is common after an application.
What does not change is the need for an assessment first. Without surgery does not mean without a diagnosis: it means a different path to the same goal, which is to restore the support and the contour the face has been losing.
Start with the cause, not with the list
It is tempting to choose a treatment by a name you have heard. The problem is that each option acts on a different layer, and choosing before the diagnosis means choosing in the dark.
The face ages in layers that change together: bone, fat, ligaments, muscles and skin. And loss of support in the deep layers usually explains most of what bothers people in the mirror, even when the concern seems to be about skin.
That is why the main concern is the start of the conversation, not the end. Facial planning decides what is included, in what order and how much, based on the whole face. See how the face changes over the years.
The options and what each one treats
The options most used in the treatment room answer different problems. The indication for each one comes from what the assessment finds.
Hyaluronic acid
Hyaluronic acid is a gel that restores structure in the deep layers and draws the contour. It is the option that speaks most directly to loss of support. Read how hyaluronic acid works in the face.
Botulinum toxin
Botulinum toxin acts on the muscles of expression and softens the marks that come from movement. It comes in as part of a plan, not as an isolated procedure. In the N3F® Protocol follow-up, it may be added every six months, when indicated.
Technologies
Microfocused ultrasound is used when the assessment indicates it, always within a plan. Technologies work on the quality and firmness of the tissues, but they do not restore the deep structure that has gone missing.
Skincare at home
Daily skincare, with sunscreen every day at the top of the list, changes the quality of the skin and holds back part of the photoaging. It is the basis of any plan, and it does not replace structure either.
Non-surgical lift: where the effect comes from
The expression non-surgical facelift is confusing when it makes people think of pulled skin. That is not what happens.
In Dr. Fred Fortes's work, hyaluronic acid is placed first at the deep support points, next to the ligaments that hold the face. With the foundation rebuilt, repositioning follows: what has descended goes back to a higher position. The lifting effect appears because of that restored support, not because the skin has been pulled.
It is also how the jawline contour becomes more defined again, because the middle third stops unloading weight onto the lower third. Understand the full reasoning in how aging changes the support of the face.

Where the limit of this path lies
Rejuvenation with hyaluronic acid and surgery are different paths, and being honest about that is part of the appointment.
The N3F® Protocol restores support and contour with no incisions and no downtime, and many patients stop considering surgery after understanding the cause of what they saw in the mirror.
In the assessment, what weighs most in the indication is laxity below the chin and jaw and facial heaviness. Cases with significant excess skin are analyzed in an individual assessment, with clarity about what the protocol can and cannot do in each case. That is what the assessment is for: telling you which path makes sense for your face, without rushing and without promises before looking.
What the path looks like in the N3F® Protocol
Without surgery does not mean without follow-up. The face keeps changing, and the plan follows that change:
- Assessment: photos, analysis of the thirds of the face, of what has lost structure and of what only looks tired. If it does not make sense to apply anything that day, nothing is applied.
- Individual plan: which areas are included, in what order and with how much product, considering your moment in health and in life.
- Restructuring: the whole face, in the same session, with hyaluronic acid only, in the amount the face calls for.
- 60-day follow-up: once everything has settled, the fine adjustments. This is where the result comes together.
- Annual maintenance: about one third of the initial amount, adjusted to your moment. Some patients are in their ninth year of follow-up.
The hyaluronic acid used is UP Contour, by Ilikia. It is always worth confirming that the product has Anvisa registration and that it is applied by a qualified professional. The assessment takes place at N3F Clinic, in Brooklin, São Paulo, or during periodic appointments in Florianópolis.
